Videos are more popular than ever these days. No wonder – many people find it much easier to be passively fed information in the form of a video than to consume information themselves by reading a text. Video learning units are therefore particularly popular when it comes to learning and further training. These can be optimally integrated into the fast-paced everyday life of tourism in the form of short “knowledge snacks”.
Of course, this is not the only way to use videos effectively. In many industries and for numerous target groups, complex content often needs to be broken down in order to present information in a way that everyone can understand. And that’s exactly what videos can do for you.

This format is also ideal for marketing new strategies, projects, ideas, visions or simply for advertising a new product.

As you can see, videos of all kinds can be an all-round solution in your marketing kit.

What makes a good explainer video?

Good explainer videos are characterized by one thing in particular: They get to the heart of complex topics effectively and sustainably. The most important information is presented effectively. Ideally, this is rounded off by well thought-out storytelling rounds off the explanatory video.

What does a good explainer video do?

A good explanatory video has a lasting effect on the transfer of knowledge. Every day, we all absorb a lot of important information. As a result, one person’s attention span decreases faster than another’s. A short, to the point explanatory video can interrupt this downward spiral of absorption and re-trigger the attention of each individual.

How long should a good explainer video be?

The duration of a video is enormously important for the learning effect and the willingness to absorb. The longer a video lasts, the less attention viewers will pay. An explanatory video should therefore be as short as possible and only as long as necessary. Reducing information to the minimum is of course no easy task. Therefore, think carefully in advance about what information you absolutely need to convey. Rigorously delete unnecessary subordinate clauses, filler words or superfluous explanations. This is usually half the battle.
However, when it comes to entire courses on specific topics, cutting back too hard is rather counterproductive. The solution here is Microlearning. Instead of creating a video that lasts 20 minutes, 4 smaller learning units of 4 minutes each are created.

What do we do at Teejit?

At Teejit, we mainly create content for continuing education – i.e. entire courses with up to five short learning units or even short snacksthat give short tips on everyday tourism practice in 1-2 minutes. In addition to this training content, we also create promotional videos. The video support for the marketing of the new digital strategy in South Tyrol is one example.

Which tool do we use and why?

Since the beginning, our video tool has been the provider VYOND.
Vyond is an intuitive video tool with which you can cut exciting explanatory videos in three styles in an online editor. The tool works on a modular principle. From self-designed characters to background elements and sound effects – Vyond offers a wide range of possibilities. A number of templates make it easy to get started with video production. However, individual customization and the precise setup of animations require considerably more skill.

One of our latest courses revolves around the ever-present topic of data. In the first learning unit, we first dealt with structured data.
